POMV raises funds for unique Hospital in Barczewo in Poland
The Hospital in Barczewo, which is run by the Polish Order of the Knights of Malta, is dedicated to the long-term treatment of patients requiring constant and specialised care. This specialist treatment is critical to all who are admitted to the hospital.
The patients come from all over Poland to the hospital as it specialises in the treatment of those recovering from strokes and car accidents. This takes the order back to its origins as a hospitaller order, which looked after poor, sick and injured pilgrims in the Holy Land.
The hospital was refurbished to the highest standard in 2012, but crucial medical equipment is urgently needed as well as help with monthly operational finances.
The hospital will have specific rehabilitation rooms and can also offer hydro massages. It is also only one of four hospitals in Poland, which has use of a 'cyber-eye', which enables communication with patients unable to communicate in any other way.
Please help us make this hospital a success, so that more of its kind can be established in the future.
